ANIMALS in East Yorkshire, including alpacas and pheasants, are hoping to find someone special in their lives as St Valentine’s Day approaches.
Sewerby Hall And Gardens, near Bridlington, is looking for people to adopt some of their animals for a year.
Every adopter receives a pack which includes an adoption certificate, a key-ring, a quarterly newsletter and two free admission vouchers.
A sign on the animal’s enclosure will state who has adopted that animal for the year.
Head zookeeper John Pickering said: “All the staff at Sewerby zoo are very grateful to the visitors who adopt our animals.
“Some of the animals are adopted by the same person year after year, and some are adopted by clubs, organisations and schools.
“Sometimes, when I feed the animals, I feel sorry for them, knowing that nobody has adopted them.”
Any of the animals are available to adopt and prices start from as little as £12.
