Dan Howie, from Northallerton, and his rowing partner Will North, from Hampshire, have won the pairs class in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
They completed the 3,000 mile row in 53 days nine hours and 30 minutes on Sunday. Will and Dan have raised more than £100,000 for their three charities, Cancer Research, Leukemia & Lymphoma Research and St Anna’s, which helps underprivileged children in Ghana.
Dan said: “We are ecstatic to have won our class in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. Nothing could have prepared us for the treacherous conditions at sea and it feels phenomenal to have overcome the challenges and won our class. Thank you to all who have supported us.”
