BUSINESSES in York will be urged to look at the way their employees travel to work during a breakfast meeting tomorrow.
The workplace travel planning project organised by City of York Council’s i-Travel York personalised travel advice service, which has already been offered to residents, will offer employers a stall at their businesses where staff can find out more about their options for getting to work.
It will also provide support on initiatives to encourage staff to walk, cycle or use public transport and access to funding streams which can improve facilities such as cycle parking and promoting sustainable travel, with the council saying the advice could save firms and their workers money.
The free meeting will be held at the Best Western Monk Bar Hotel between 8.30am and 9.30am and businesses can book by emailing i-Travel York programme manager David Short at david.short@york.go.uk
