YOUNGSTERS from a York primary school helped tidy up their community as part of an award scheme run by the Archbishop of York.
About 60 children from Year 6 at Carr Junior School helped to tidy the area around Ostman Road and Beckfield Lane shops in Acomb.
The effort was the last stage of their Archbishop of York Youth Trust award to lead positive change in their community.
Deputy head Vicky Kerr said: “It was a community litter pick to make a positive difference to the area. The project was chosen by the children and it was organised by them.”
