RESIDENTS in York wanting to lower their energy bills can get free help and advice this week.
York Citizens Advice Bureau is offering residents help with saving money and increasing energy efficiency as part of Big Energy Saving Week, as well as making sure they are getting the best possible deal on their gas and electricity.
Rebecca Jeffrey, Advice York social policy co-ordinator, said: “The rising cost of living means that more and more people are finding that their household budgets won’t cover day-to-day essentials.
“We’re keen to make sure that no one pays a penny more than they need to on energy costs.”
Citizens Advice is behind the campaign, which has run twice before. It is also supported by the energy industry and charities including Age UK.
Anyone wanting help with their bills should visit City of York Council’s West Offices building in Station Rise during the week, where various organisations will be giving free support and advice, or go to bigenergysavingweek.org.uk
