IN HIS letter of January 27, BT regional manager Tom Keeney referred to my earlier letter about extremely poor internet speeds in Askham Bryan.
Instead of addressing the problem, Mr Keeney then went on in self-congratulatory tones to say what a wonderful job BT was doing in the city and North Yorkshire. Yes, it’s great to bring high-speed broadband to rural areas – but balance against this the fact that BT cannot get a fast line to a suburb only two-and-half miles (by road) from their Dringhouses exchange and their plausibility begins to falter.
Come on, Mr Keeney, tell us what BT can actually do for us and not what you aspire to do for other areas. Don’t just blow trumpets.
