AN AWARDS scheme has been launched to recognise people who make a difference in East Yorkshire.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Chairman’s Awards are given to individuals and companies who make a contribution to the area in five categories: community, the built heritage, environment, business and sport.
Coun Claude Mole, the authority’s chairman, said: “There are many people who work tirelessly in their communities to make a difference to others and often receive little recognition. The Chairman’s Awards are the ideal opportunity to show them how much their work is appreciated.”
The awards are in their 15th year and winners will be announced at the Spa in Bridlington in May.
To make a nomination go to eastriding.gov.uk/chairmansawards or phone the civic office on 01482 393260 by the closing date of Friday, February 21.
