THIS is a sight council bosses in York want to see more of – children enjoying their school meals.
Pupils at Dringhouses Primary School showed their appetite for the dinners served up in their canteen as City of York Council asks for views on how the popularity of school meals can be improved.
The authority has formed a task group to look into the matter after finding some parents and carers fail to take up free school meals despite being registered for them, and some children choose not to eat them.
Cashless payment systems are also set to be investigated as part of the group’s work.
To give your feedback, email schoolmealservice@york.gov.uk or write to the council’s head of school services, Mark Ellis, at West Offices, Station Rise, York, YO1 6GA. All comments should be received by the end of Sunday, February 16.
