ON REACHING my 70th birthday, I assumed I was eligible for the shingles vaccine.

However, due to a shortage of the vaccine I have had a three-month wait and then put on a waiting list.

This week I visited the surgery for my MOT and offered the vaccination, but when my date of birth was checked I was informed that only people whose 70th birthday was on or before September 2, 2013 were eligible. I missed out by one month.

Maybe I’ll hit the right date in 2023. However I suspect that if I were prepared to pay this wouldn’t be an issue. Oh well, cheers, here’s to good health!
