A MEALS on wheels service which serves two North Yorkshire towns is to be rolled out to neighbouring villages.
Thirsk, Sowerby and District Community Care Association delivers more than 40 meals a week to isolated, lonely and vulnerable people over 65, and a £2,698 grant from Hambleton District Council’s Community Grants Programme has allowed it to employ a new co-ordinator, Annette Greenwood, to manage the expansion project and promote the service in villages.
She will also encourage pubs to get involved and recruit volunteer drivers.
For more information, or to volunteer, phone Annette on 01845 523115 or email Annette@tscca.org.uk
