A MAN has been left with a fractured skull after being attacked in York city centre.
The 25-year-old was on his way home from a night out in the city centre when he was assaulted by another man on Lendal Bridge.
The attack happeend at around 3.25am last Saturday, but police have released details of the attack only today. The victim remains in hospital.
Police say the attacker and another man and woman who he was with all ran off towards Exhbition Square and on to Bootham after the attack.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to help them find the attacker.
The suspect is described as white, aged in his mid 20s, around 5ft 10in tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a white top with a red rucksack on his back.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the man he was with was dressed in dark clothing and the woman had shoulder-length light brown hair and was wearing a short black dress or skirt.
