A NORTH Yorkshire head teacher has paid tribute to a former pupil who died in a car crash.

Georgina Taylor, 22, suffered serious head and neck injuries after she lost control of her car on a motorway near Manchester on Saturday, and died later that day.

As reported in The Press, her 13-month-old son, Rory, was in the car with her but escaped with only cuts and bruises.

Ms Taylor - known as George to her friends - had been a pupil at Knaresborough’s King James’s High School after she moved to the town about ten years ago.

Head teacher Carl Sugden said: “All at King James’s School are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Georgina Taylor.

“Georgina was a lively, gregarious girl, who settled into school life quickly after relocating to Knaresborough in 2004. She played a full part in school life, particularly in sports as a junior sports leader.

“Our thoughts and best wishes go to Georgina’s family and friends, particularly her brother, Will, who we will strongly support through his studies at King James’s.”

Her family has also paid tribute to her as a loving mother, sister and daughter.
