A TRIO of Pocklington School pupils have been selected in the Yorkshire Under-15 rugby union squad.
Elliot Adamson, Jaeger Iveson and Jonty Atkinson were picked after trials involving 120 youngsters.
The squad will play a warm-up game against a Yorkshire U16s district side this month before tackling Lancashire and Cheshire in April.
Adamson plays fly-half in the school’s ‘A’ team and has been selected in that position for Yorkshire.
Iveson is a flanker in the Pocklington ‘A’ team, but won his county place at hooker.
‘A’ team inside centre Atkinson will take up that position with Yorkshire.Sean Houltham, master in charge of rugby at Pocklington School, said: “This is a fine achievement and a great reflection of the hard work these boys have put in to achieve the honour of representing Yorkshire.
“I wish them all the success in their endeavours versus Lancashire and Cheshire, and look forward to supporting their continued development in our rugby programme here at Pocklington School.”
