Grand Départ of the cycling postman in York?
FOR 43 years our post has been delivered by a postman with a bike. No longer.
Our postman now uses a trolley dropped off by a van.
He tells me that within six months no York post will be delivered by bike.
How sad and ironic that in the year of the Grand Départ and all its attendant froth, the last significant commercial use of the bicycle in York will cease.
