RESIDENTS and visitors to York are reminded that there will be free car parking in the city tomorrow.
City of York Council has scrapped charges at 13 car parks for residents and visitors as a one-day move to help traders.
The move covers the car parks in Bishopthorpe Road, Bootham Row, Castle, Castle Mills, Esplanade, FossBank, Haymarket, Marygate, Monk Bar, NunneryLane, Piccadilly, St George's Fieldand UnionTerrace.
City council leader James Alexander said this was a quiet time of year for city centre businesses and the council had promised to work on a parking initiative to help.
