POLICE cordoned off a house in York, while they negotiated with a man threatening to harm himself.
Officers were called to Osbaldwick Lane just before 8pm on Friday and were there for more than six hours.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the scene was quickly contained by officers.
There were widespread rumours on social media of a stabbing in Osbaldwick Lane but police say these were untrue.
