A YORKSHIRE breast cancer support charity has launched a cookbook to aid health and wellbeing.
The Haven, which has a centre in Leeds, has produced The Haven In Your Kitchen seasonal recipe cookbook with all the expert knowledge you need to improve your everyday diet.
Sarah Lumley, The Haven’s nutritionist, said: “Health issues can arise when nutrients you need are missing from your diet on a regular basis.
“Spending a little time on planning healthy meals will help improve your nutrient levels, boost your sense of wellbeing and have a beneficial effect on your overall health.”
The 130-page book has almost 100 recipes and covers percentage recommendations for fruit, vegetables, fat, protein and carbohydrates as well as a store room guide for what to buy for your go-to cupboard essentials.
Recipes include The Haven Green Juice, Perfect Porridge, Winter Salad, Beef and Prune Casserole, Thai-Style Mussels and Earl Grey Fruitcake.
The Haven In Your Kitchen will be free to visitors to The Yorkshire Haven in Leeds and available through The Haven’s website thehaven.org.uk for a suggested donation of £10.
