ITEMS shown on an expenses form often reveal a previously unknown side of the claimant’s character, namely one of meanness, arrogance, naivety or greed.
Julian Sturdy (Con) has recently claimed 60p for ball point pens, whereas Hugh Bayley (Lab) received 40p for a two-mile bike ride.
I’ll leave the reader to decide which of the above categories these members of Parliament fall into, also to remind you they are paid from the public purse a substantial five figure salary.
