TWO Girlie Gardeners are getting ready to dig in and help raise cash for St Leonard’s Hospice through two ladies’ luncheons at the Cedar Court Grand Hotel next month.
The duo – Helen James and Cathy Caudwell Todd – will give a humorous and inspiring account of how they left the rat race and became their own bosses.
They set up their gardening business idea in Skipton selling their gardening products, including pink wellies and watering cans, at parties in people’s homes.
The events – on March 22 and 23 – will include a two-course lunch and coffee in the hotel’s Grand Board Room.
Judy Wilson, community fundraiser at the hospice, said: “Helen and Cathy are an inspiration for women in so many ways – not only inspiring them to get out into their gardens, but also to have the courage to follow their instincts and set up in business for themselves.”
