Fence no help at all
REGARDING the photograph in The Press of January 29 showing the riverside walk near Lendal Bridge, it shows a chain fence which serves no purpose as regards safety.
On the contrary it only serves as a trap by presenting a false sense of security to anyone making a grab for it in the event of staggering. A handrail would provide support.
