HOT-SHOTS Haxby came out on top of Copmanthorpe in an eight-goal extravaganza in the York FA Under-19s Football League.
Rowan Todd was the star for Haxby, hitting a perfect hat-trick of header, right-foot shot and left-foot drive.
His header put Haxby in front before Copmanthorpe countered for a 3-1 half-time lead with goals from Alex Dunn, Matt Blackburn and a scorching 35-yard half-volley by Harry Savage.
But Haxby heaved back to a winning position with Todd’s second-half brace and goals apiece for Joe Ellerker and Lewis Aubrey.
Fulford could not stop Dringhouses’ winning streak, losing 6-1 at home. Conor Paterson’s lone goal for the hosts was eclipsed by a tally shared between Tom Hawksby (2), Sam Lake, Sam Ripley Kitson, Liam Robertson and James Robinson.
For once leaders Harrogate found goals hard to come by, managing just one from Brad Walker to settle the clash at home to Rawcliffe.
Tockwith beat visitors York RI 6-3 thanks to goals from George Hardy (3), Lewis Beecher (2) and Jack Katkowski. Alex Forster (2) and Angus Williams replied.
Thorpe’s Tom Rowley (3) and Jean-Pierre Grenier scored to see off Strensall, whose Dan Woolin replied.
Wigginton Grasshoppers beat hosts Acomb 4-3 with Dan Wilson (2), James Sutton and Owen Scott on target.
