BOSSES of two major pharmaceutical organisations have visited army medics in York.
Helen Gordon, the chief executive of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and Duncan Rudkin, head of the General Pharmaceutical Council, visited medics from 202 Field Hospital at the Army Medical Services Training Centre at near Strensall.
Lieutenant Colonel Rob Liddington and Major David Williams received a special recognition award from the RPS and UK Clinical Association in September, on behalf of all the pharmacists who had deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
They also saw the unique medical training facility in Strensall - a replica of the field hospital in Camp Bastion.
Mr Rudkin said: “It has been inspirational to hear about and see the lengths the military go to to prepare their people who are going into harm’s way to look after their colleagues.”
