RESIDENTS have launched the latest stage of their crackdown on dog owners who fail to clear up after their pets in a York community.
Foxwood Residents Association organised teams to walk the area between Tedder Road and Acomb Wood Drive, spraying any dog mess with fluorescent biodegradable paint, aimed at highlighting the fact that fouling is still an issue and some dog walkers are not getting the message.
“Since we put up new notices last year, there has been a significant reduction in dog-fouling in Foxwood, but there are still some areas where more needs to be done,” said Shirley Gumley, who chairs the residents’ association.
“This action will allow people to see that we will take direct action, including photographing and reporting offenders.”
