A free course for people caring for someone with dementia is to be held in East Yorkshire.
The dementia awareness course will take place at Cottingham Library on Tuesday, March 25. It aims to give carers and relatives a better insight into the condition, enabling them to understand and cope with some of the behaviour and emotions of the person with dementia.
It will help them to understand different types of dementia, to recognise signs and symptoms, to understand what is happening to the memory function, to be aware of treatments and therapies, and enable them to speak to other carers and share experiences in a supportive environment.
The course will take place from 10am to 3pm. Places must be booked in advance, and are limited. To book, phone 01482 391563 or email janet.mcdougall@eastriding.gov.uk
