There has been much written in the national press recently about the “obscene” bonus payments being made to some employees of the Royal Bank of Scotland. A figure of £576 million was mentioned.
All the features in the papers seem to be against these payments.
But if the employees are paying income tax then the Government will get 50 per cent. So I say, pay them as much as the bank wishes, it may be the only way our Government will get some of its investment back.
The same can be applied to footballers who earn massive amounts. They will also be paying 50 per cent income tax.
Now you might say I am looking through rose-tinted spectacles, but if I am wrong please can someone put me right.
