THE chance to meet a Roman legionary, a twilight ghost walk and a chance to learn more about North Yorkshire’s past as an ancient battleground will be among the highlights of a walking festival which starts next month.
The first Boroughbridge Festival of Walks took place last year and organisers have worked with traders and community groups to draw up a programme for this year’s event, which starts on Good Friday with the spooky walk.
The Roman history walk takes place the following day, April 19, and a tour of the Battle of Myton site will be held on April 21.
Walkers who complete any of the routes will be presented with a badge to mark their participation, with all walks being free and booking not required. For more details, visit boroughbridgewalks.org.uk
