I DO not visit the city centre very often as between them the city council and bus company make this difficult for old people.
We used to have a bus which terminated in Piccadilly but this was cancelled.
I had to go to Barnitts and was horrified at what has happened to King’s Square: there was a pick-up truck in the middle, a stall selling food and a couple of advertising tricycles chained to trees. Who on the city council cannot see an open space without filling it with tat?
Professor Alan Simpson (The Press, February 25) says what is lacking in the city is quality in public splaces and public space.
What can we look forward to in front of the Art Gallery – a bouncy castle and fish and chip van?
