THE Lord Mayor of York attended a topping-out ceremony at a new care home in the city.
Coun Julie Gunnell dropped in at Ebor Court care home, which was designed and constructed by LNT Construction at Great North Way, Nether Poppleton. On its completion, the 64-bed home will be operated by Leeds-based Ideal Care Homes.
Lawrence Tomlinson, chairman of Ideal Care Homes, said: “Everyone here at Ideal Care Homes is really excited to see Ebor Court taking shape and the ‘topping out’ ceremony brings us one step closer to the opening of the home.
“We are really looking forward to showcasing the great facilities we have on offer when the home opens – it is a great home in a great location that will create about 50 jobs for local people. We are sure it will soon become a key part of the local community.”
The home is due to open in July and will hold a public open day on Sunday, July 20, from 10.30am to 3pm, where local residents can view the facilities and reserve rooms.
