MORE than 700 York residents have signed up to a collective energy-switching scheme to save money on their household bills.
City of York Council worked with iChoosr to make it easy and simple for residents to consider switching their energy tariffs. Residents had from December 10 until February 17 to sign up to the scheme. Residents will save £158 on their gas and electricity bills, the council said.
The scheme in York has been combined with a number of similar initiatives around the UK, to create a collective of more than 36,000 households wanting lower energy tariffs.
Residents who registered will now receive a personal offer letter or email letting them know if they’ll be saving against their current energy deal – and if so, how much money will be going back into their pocket.
