NINE out of ten children in North Yorkshire will be going to their first-choice secondary school in September.
Figures from North Yorkshire County Council show 92.15 per cent of parents secured their first preference for their children, with 6,587 pupils - the highest number since 2008 - moving into secondary education in September.
More than 98 per cent of children were accepted into one of their preferred schools and all pupils have been offered a place.
Coun Arthur Barker, executive member for schools, said: “This is good news for North Yorkshire, and we work with schools across the county to make sure all of them deliver the highest standards of education.”
