THE Archbishop of York will post a daily message online throughout Lent until Easter Sunday, to reflect on the process.
Dr John Sentamu said: “Lent gives us a time to reflect on God’s love for us and to prepare the way ahead. Be encouraged to know that Lent is not about giving everything up until Easter Sunday, rather it’s about being prepared to take things on.”
“Let us grow new good habits too. It doesn’t matter if you are a Christian or not, God hears us when we cry out to Him.”
Dr Sentamu said people should use Lent “to consider what we can do for ourselves” and “what we can do for our neighbours”.
Yesterday, the Archbishop visited Thirsk to pray with residents and collect prayer requests in the town and at a local school.
His Lent daily reflections will be posted at archbishopofyork.org/pages/lent-calendar-2014
