POLICE divers have called off their river search for missing York man Ben Clarkson after a third day in the water.
Ben, 22, was last seen outside Fibbers in Stonebow after a night out at about 3.30am on Sunday, but never arrived at his home near Heworth Green, or turned up for his Sunday shift at a York music shop.
Yesterday, a team of divers from the Yorkshire And The Humber Marine Unit – based in South Yorkshire – spent another day in the River Foss around Huntington Road carrying out fingertip searches of the river for any sign that Ben may have entered the river.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “All necessary searches of the River Foss at that area have been carried out at this time.
“Searches have concluded in the River Foss for the time being and other areas of investigation are being pursued.”
When Ben was last seen he was wearing dark skinny jeans, a grey t-shirt with an Eiffel Tower logo on the front and dark pumps with white trim and white toe caps.
Anyone with information is urged to phone police on 101.
