A GIRL from East Yorkshire has become the first child to swim in the Olympic Pool since the 2012 games.
Eve Naylor, a nine-year-old from Driffield, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2012, about the same time she started swimming, and has been unable to swim regularly since her diagnosis.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions, organised a special trip for Eve, who took part in a mock Olympic race.
Eve said: “The wish was the best day of my life and I will remember it forever. The best moment was playing on the aqua splash with the swimmers.”
