TWO farms near Harrogate have been sold for £1.9 million as North Yorkshire County Council sells off part of its land portfolio.
Acting on behalf of the authority, property consultants Bruton Knowles sold both properties by public auction at the Allerton Court Hotel, in Northallerton.
Peach Tree Farm, a residential smallholding in the village of Minskip, which had a guide price of at £650,000, actually sold for £700,000.
Meanwhile Aldborough Moor Farm, in Marton-cum-Grafton, which had a guide price of £950,000, in fact sold for £1.2 million.
In the past year Bruton Knowles has disposed of five smallholdings on behalf of the county council, generating more than £5 million in capital receipts.
