BRITISH Transport Police have released a picture of a man they want to speak to following the theft of a bag from an East Coast mainline train.
Officers think the man could have information about the theft of a suitcase on a train running through York and between Peterborough and Newcastle on Wednesday.
Sgt Bob Moody, of the British Transport Police, said: “A man, carrying a Sports Direct drawstring bag and a small holdall, got up to leave the train at York. Just prior to alighting the train he pulled up his hood then picked up the victim’s case before quickly leaving the train.
"After reviewing CCTV from the train I would like to trace the man pictured who we believe may have caught a later train to Scarborough.”
