FROM the Nou Camp to Little Knavesmire. Woodthorpe Wanderers Under-12s will take on hosts Hamilton Panthers in the York Mitchell Sports Football League first division tomorrow fresh from a trip to Spanish giants Barcelona.
The York youngsters were beaten 11-0 by an U14s Barcelona academy team.
Manager Darren Nunn said: “It was a fantastic performance by all the boys, who never let their heads drop and our goalkeeper Lewis Stephen made some fantastic saves.”
Zak Hindmarch, Oscar Butters and George Wilson also stood out for the Woodthorpe side.
After the game, the players visited the Nou Camp stadium to watch Barcelona’s 4-1 victory over Almeria in La Liga.
Nunn added: “We are all so proud of the boys and their impeccable behaviour throughout the weekend.”
