I SUPPORT A J Hubbard’s letter of February 27, regarding the terrible way in which the University of Leicester are treating the bones of King Richard III by genomic DNA sequencing.
Our members cannot believe that this is happening to an anointed King of England.
My society is not alone in finding this treatment distasteful.
John Ashdown-Hill, an eminent historian, has also spoken out about this matter. He wants the testing stopped and the bones to be placed in a restful/peaceful place until the outcome of the judicial review on March 13.
John, as well as researching the DNA of the brother/sisters of King Richard, was also the instigator together with Phillipa Langley of the Richard Society’s work to find Richard’s remains in Leicester.
