THIS year’s York Literature Festival is enjoying record ticket sales.

The festival, which this year features the likes of Germaine Greer, John Humphrys, Roger McGough and many more as guest speakers, plus a host of other performances, readings and writing workshops, sold or allocated more than 2,600 tickets in just ten weeks.

Ticket sales are set to reach £20,000 for the first time, and eight events in the festival programme are already sold out.

“It’s been a fantastic response,’ said Festival Director Miles Salter. “I think it proves the quality of the 2014 programme. We tried to create a diverse programme with something for everybody.”

Tickets are still on sale. For the full programme, visit yorkliteraturefestival.co.uk or pick up a copy of the festival programme from Visit York, York Theatre Royal, York St John University, Waterstone’s or York libraries.
