A DONATION from York Ainsty Rotary Club will mean girls in Nepal will be able to have an uninterrupted education.
Volunteers attending workshops sponsored by the club have made washable hygiene kits which will be distributed in Nepal by Harrogate Brigantes Rotary Club.
The kits, packed into brightly patterned drawstring bags, are made in workshops co-ordinated by York Ainsty Rotary Club member Issy Sanderson.
She said: “Women and girls here, appreciative of our own education, are keen to enable girls in Nepal, where due to poverty girls are unable to go to school during menstruation, to continue in uninterrupted education.
“The kits also enable women to continue to earn their livelihoods and support their families. York Ainsty is proud to be supporting this project. These kits change lives.”
