I read in The Press of March 7 that the university and local council want to create even more traffic congestion around the university, this time along University Road.
They once again use the health and safety banner and the dangers to students as a lever to obtain what they want. To ensure they have the local council on board they offer funding for a 20mph zone and a cycle path.
As an alternative to wasting any taxpayers’ money, I propose the university teaches its students the Green Cross Code; after all, they are supposed to be educated!
The next thing will be the university and the council closing the road near Heslington Church so the students can have a “nicer experience when walking between campuses”.
