THE search for missing York man Ben Clarkson is continuing, despite a vital witness having come forward.
Ben, 22, who works at the Music Room shop in Lendal, has not been seen since 3.40am on Sunday, March 2, when he was seen in Layerthorpe after a night out with a colleague.
He had previously been seen at 3.30am outside Fibbers in The Stonebow.
Detectives released CCTV images on Monday of two men who they want to speak to, including a man who was seen walking along Layerthorpe at the same time as Ben.
An 18-year-old York man came forward following the appeal and confirmed he spoke with Ben in Fibbers in the early hours of Sunday and saw him outside the club at about 3am. He has also said he was not the man seen walking along Layerthorpe.
The person officers are asking to come forward is a white man wearing a light coloured jacket with dark trousers and shoes.
He walked along The Stonebow towards the Foss Islands Road junction, on the opposite side of the road to Ben, and later took the same route as Ben past National Windscreens.
Anyone with information that could help is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
