HEWORTH Golf Club capped their first foray in the Harrogate area of Yorkshire Rabbit Golfers' Association with victory.
The Heworth club inched to a tense triumph in the winter league competition, where they beat fellow finalists Oakdale GC of Harrogate in a duel which went to the first extra hole at Wetherby GC.
The winning Heworth pairing were John Thompson and John Nixon, who prevailed in their four-ball match.
The trophy - decided after a total of seven matches featuring more than a dozen clubs, who played throughout the autumn and winter months - will be presented at the Harrogate area annual meeting later this month.
Other members of the victorious Heworth team were: Geoff Scott, Peter Scott, Peter Ferguson, Phil Crowther, Kevin Goodrick, Andy Holmes, Peter Boyd, Keith Orrell, Kevin Dwyer, Shaun Atkinson and Kevin Wilson.
