SOMETHING is terribly wrong with our Government's sense of priorities, when they insist North Yorkshire's newly created Primary Care Trust must immediately introduce massive cuts in NHS health services, but at the same time are willing to spend upwards of £75 billion on nuclear weapons.

The NHS in North Yorkshire has to try and save £10 million and in so doing many patients are bound to suffer, good qualified health care people will lose their jobs as beds and wards are closed and operations delayed.

How is it we can spend £26 billion to £75 billion on replacing Trident and Vanguard nuclear missiles and submarines, which we do not need and will never use?

If we as a nation went about things in a different way, especially with regard to foreign policy, we might well not have enemies in 20 years time, but we will always need medical care and facilities, which everyone is happy to pay taxation for. Is there not any opposition anywhere to this New Labour madness?
