“MINSTER car badge should be free” (Readers letters, The Press, March 5). I too believe that these badges should be free to York residents as it encourages people to visit the city centre and spend money in the shops, cafés restaurants, and helps keep businesses going and keeps people in jobs.
I believe that charging residents for these badges is nothing more than a way of the Labour council persecuting motorists, when they already make millions of pounds from York city centre car parks, fines from Lendal Bridge and Coppergate centre parking restrictions.
I say keep the York residents Minster Badge free for the people of York.
