WHEN Richard III was exhumed from a Leicester car park a year and a half ago, archaeologists also unwittingly unearthed a right royal row.
The permit to dig was given on the understanding that the King would be reburied in situ, but try telling that to the people of York.
Indeed campaigners yesterday staged a march through the city ahead of a High Court hearing today and tomorrow that will decide the monarch’s fate once and for all.
Richard always intended to be laid to rest in York Minster and we have always said that would be the right solution.
Let’s hope sense will prevail.
