BUCCANEERING youngsters at Lakeside Primary School, Clifton Moor, enjoyed a pirate picnic as part of activities for the school’s storytelling week.

During the week parents, carers, grandparents and special guests were invited in to read to the children.

The pupils also got the chance to settle down and read their own books.

They could also join others in listening to stories, as well as becoming authors and artists for themselves, producing picture books and bookmarks.

Yesterday the finale for the week’s events saw parents and carers coming into school to share all the work done by the pupils.
