Postcard memories
THE other day I received a surprise postcard from one Matthew Laverack, thanking me for my support of his writings, and asking me if I remembered him helping his brother Harry put our central heating in.
Yes! I remember well, a very personable young man (around 45 years ago).
He was earning pocket money for a European holiday, almost unheard of in those days.
He sent us a postcard from wherever, so that is the second postcard from him.
We have never met again except through The Press letters page.
