A hand-made rocking horse donated to York’s St Leonard’s Hospice has raised £1,300.
The five-year-old horse was donated to the St Leonard’s Hospice Furniture Shop in Heworth by a generous local resident.
Made by the Rocking Horse Shop at Fangfoss in East Yorkshire, she was named Ruby because she was bought to mark the Ruby Wedding anniversary of the donor.
The shop invited offers for the horse, which originally cost more than £2000 and was in perfect condition, both in The Press and on social media. It attracted a number of substantial bids, going to the eventual purchaser for £1,300.
