FOSTER carers are needed for older children and teenagers in East Yorkshire.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is holding an event where anybody wanting to find out more about fostering can talk to social workers, meet foster carers and their birth children, learn about training and hear about the experiences of young people and what they want from a family.
Prospective carers should ideally be over 25 and can be single, married or living with a partner. Dave Glenville, the council’s fostering team leader, said: “They must be able to offer the time, commitment, space and skills to care for children separated from their own families.
“This can be the beginning of a journey which can have rewards for everybody involved and can change lives forever.”
The event is at Tickton Grange Hotel at Tickton, near Beverley, on March 25 and starts at 6pm.
More information is available by phoning the fostering team on 01482 396673.
