STAMFORD Bridge Under-14s hit back from a goal down at half-time to beat Scarborough Ladies 3-1 in the City of York Girls’ Football League.
The hosts took the lead with five minutes remaining in the first half, but within two minutes of the restart Bridge had drawn level.
After some excellent work in midfield from Poppy Clancey the ball was played through to striker Jess Wills, who ran on and confidently fired past the keeper.
Continued pressure from the visitors paid off in the 53rd minute when they took the lead. A teasing corner on the right from captain Ellie Whytock was not dealt with and Wills squeezed the ball home.
The striker cemented her player of the match performance in the 59th minute when she completed a hat-trick, forcing home the ball from another corner.
